Then and Now at KTWO
While "George Kay" put in nearly 40 years at KTWO news, others from the 1980s have mostly moved on.
1986-1988 Tim Curran, News Director at OutQ on Sirius satellite radio
1982-1988 Fred Pfeiffer, weather and morning anchor, KRTV Great Falls MT [wife Terra also worked at KTWO]
1978-1986 Bob Nellis, medical news editor at University of Florida
1974-1985 Pete Williams, judicial reporter for NBC Washington News Bureau
1988-1989 Lisa Sparks, PhD associate professor, George Mason U, Fairfax VA
1982- Vicky Lynn Hawn, US Dept of Engery, Teapot Dome facility, died August 2006
1982-1989 Susan Anderson, Gov Dave Freudenthal Office, government relations policy analyst.
In 2002 Fred Pfeiffer wrote me and mentioned an additional KTWO TV talent of the time - Doc Mueller [weather] who i have not been able to track down. Also mentioned were Dave Nutter, Terry Gross, Terry Hopkins and the "midnight cowboy" all of KTWO radio. Two news reporters that survived the Harriscope sale and continued on with long careers at KTWO TV were Charlie Brown [replaced Pete Williams] and Wes Sturr. Wes was with the TV station until 2000 and died in April 2004 still reporting for KTWO radio.

Leaving KTWO news has since become a time honored tradition. Even NBC news left in 2003. Some of the Johnny-leave-latelys are, in no particular order, with most current assignment -
Thomas Drayton, weekend anchor KTXL Sacramento CA
Matt Tresa, reporter for WNWO, Toledo OH
Najahe Hall, reporter for KSLA, Shreveport LA
Tamara Damante, morning news anchor, KESQ, Palm Springs CA
Tom Grant, editor of Metro Spirit, an alternative weekly in Augusta, GA
Jessica Garate, reporter KRQE Albuquerque NM
Flint Adam, reporter KESQ , Palm Springs CA
Penny Preston, reporter KULR, Billings MT
Lindie Patton, weekend anchor, KBCI Boise MT
Anne Yeager, reporter KVVU Las Vegas NV
Arran Andersen, sports reporter, KOVR Sacramento CA
Blake Smith, weather, KTKA Topeka KS
Elizabeth Wenger, weekend anchor, WXII Winston-Salem NC
Susan Burk, reporter around town.
Monica Webb, fighter not a lover.
Andrew Kozak, weather, KSNW, Wichita KS
John Earl, sports, KKTV, Colorado Springs CO
Marcos Ortiz, reporter, KTVX Salt Lake City UT
Jake Dunne, weather, WLNS Lansing MI
Angeeneh Adamian, KFOX El Paso TX
Rob Preston, WPBN/WTOM, Northern MI
Rossie Barresi, KKTV Colorado Springs CO
And of course the fastest turn-around was by Marvin Nolte, a KTWO anchor for a day in April 2005 then went on to close down KGWC news in January 2006, currently "gone fishin".
Profiles on ex-KTWO engineers Scott Barella, Tom Norman, Steve Broomell are listed elsewhere. Jim O'Reilly added a comment below is also from this era at KTWO, and today he manages major donor accounts at Wyoming Public Radio.
I'm glad to contribute the name Ken Vest to the list of former KTWO news people. Ken worked as a reporter and anchor at KTWO from about 1976-to 1979. He was a bit clumsy socially but always a hard-worker whose message to me was to dress for the job I wanted, not the job I had.
Ken is now a media consultant to business executives, corporations and Washington, DC, trade groups through his company Vest Communications.
He has appeared on news shows such as Nightline, CBS Morning News, CNN and Primetime Live.

Greetings:
I just came across this post almost a year to late. I have three names of former KTWO reporters to add to the list and a question for Jim O'Reilly who added my name.
Going way back to the early to mid 1970s is Stephen Cook who ran the Cheyenne bureau then moved to Washington to work for Congressman Tino Roncolio. He is now VP Public Affairs for the National Association of Realtors. Kate Circosta followed him years later I lost track of her. Lee Kamlet took Kate's place and the last I heard was working for ABC.
My question is who the hell is Jim O'Reilly? What did he do at KTWO? And now I know why I've never made the big time, I'm "socially clumsy." Thanks for the tip Jim. Whoever you are.

Just a minor correction, it's Josh Earl, not John Earl.

Just to let you know, Doc Mueller is a communications director and lobbyist for a utility organization in Springfield, IL; Charlie Brown is "on the air" for a cable news outfit in Bradenton, FL; and I work in the public affairs office at Mayo Clinic.

Thanks for the shout-out!
For those struggling to figure out who I am, I was KTWO's weatherman and city reporter under the name Scott Paige. That was my last 'air name.' I've been Tim Curran -- my real name -- ever since.
I thought I'd add the Where-Are-They-Nows for a few KTWO alums from my era (1986-89) whom I've tracked down through Google. (Sorry to say we haven't kept in touch.)
Terry Hood, 6&10p anchor, KOTV, Tulsa, OK
Tom Edwards, selling insurance in Casper (under his real name, Tom Lunemann)
Brian Alworth, weather, KFVS, Cape Girardeau, MO (his second job after K2 -- been there since 1988!)
I guess I don't need to say what our medical reporter, Dr. John Barrasso, is up to now.

Tim (aka Scott)- quick hello from America's Heartland. I'm the morning/noon weather guy here..been here since '88 as you note.
Years ago I actually contacted KTWO about an opening- said I'd love to head up the wx dept. and bring it up to speed. But I was told that they didn't really do serious weather and were still doing the 'reporter/weather thing'. Too bad- Wyoming is such a great weather market.... Anyway- great to read up on everyone. KTWO was a heck of a small market station there for a while.

As mentioned above, Tom Edwards is, as far as I can tell, selling insurance in Casper under his real name, Tom Lunemann.
Cheers!

The good old days of six years at KTWO TV and Radio. Moved on in the later 80's to Las Vegas, just to experience warmer weather. Moved back to Montana and worked in weather two years at KTGF. Into radio as well and in 1996 joined the staff of KRTV as Chief Weather Forecaster and have been here 14 years and still enjoying it a lot!
